Cor Schaap – impressionist painter of the sea and beach

​Cor Schaap is a professional painter from Katwijk aan Zee. Coming from a family of fishermen, he feels a strong connection to the coast – an inexhaustible source of inspiration that is central to his impressionist oil paintings. Since 2019, he has devoted himself entirely to painting, both outdoors and in his studio by the sea. His large-format beach and seascapes are part of the collection of Galerie Gabriëls in The Hague, a renowned gallery that has represented leading artists since 1974. Schaap also paints sunny beach scenes and characteristic scenes from the past and present: always different, always with a fresh and lively feel. These smaller works find their way to art lovers at home and abroad.
