Cor Schaap (1968) is a Dutch painter who lives and works in Katwijk aan Zee. His oil paintings are strongly inspired by the coast, with beach scenes and seascapes as recurring themes. Schaap knows how to capture both the present and the past in his paintings in a striking way. He works from his atmospheric small studio by the sea, but can also be found outside, where he paints 'en plein air'. Schaap's paintings have now been included in the collections of renowned art galleries, including Kunsthandel Galerie Gabriëls at Noordeinde 103 in The Hague (since 1974).
